Nobody’s immune: men or women, they can all be concerned by the so-called brown spots, more commonly named « age spots » on different body areas. They are often located on sun-exposed parts of the body such as the face, hands, cleavage, the legs…
As previously said, there are numerous medical techniques that can handle and treat pigmentation and age stains. By having established a first medical consultation at the CLIPP – Paris, our physicians -dermatologists for most of them- will first rest assured that the stain doesn’t show any signs of melanoma, and thus be totally harmless.
Indeed, this is an absolute necessity for the Doctors and the patient’s health.
There are different stains types to differentiate: Lentigos, also called sun stains (or brown / age spots), the Melasmas (which commonly show up during and after pregnancy), Seborrohea Keratoses, Becker Hamartoma, and other « Café-au-lait » lesions…
All of these skin lesions can beneficiate from dedicated medical procedures. Most of them being treatable with laser therapy, even for widespread lesions, either it is located on the legs, or other parts of the body.
Either way, winter remains the best time of the year to receive treatments thanks to a minor possible sun exposure. At the CLIPP – Paris, we are equipped with the Q-Switched and PicoSure Lasers which are the most recommended and effective laser techniques to get rid of these skin lesions.
Check out our completed and documented topic on the subject, available in our glossary (in french).
